40% of the posts of Senior Residents / Tutors will be filled from the members of the Bihar State Health Service cadre, and 40% of the posts will be filled from doctors who have completed postgraduate degree courses (under the residency scheme) from the state’s medical colleges, and the remaining 20% of the posts will be filled by those doctors who have obtained postgraduate degrees (under the residency scheme) from recognized institutions outside the state. For the posts of Senior Residents / Tutors, the minimum educational qualification will be a postgraduate degree in the respective subject. In the event of a shortage of eligible candidates, the minimum educational qualification will be a diploma, for which they will also be entitled to 10 points equivalent to a postgraduate degree in the respective subject. However, their position in the merit list will be below those candidates who have obtained postgraduate degrees. Candidates with qualifications equivalent to postgraduate degree holders as per the eligibility criteria of the Medical Council of India will also be eligible for selection.
